STRATEGIES FOR USING ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION AT THE TERTIARY LEVEL OF EDUCATION FOR ACHIEVING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

Abstract
This paper discussed entrepreneurship education at tertiary education level as a tool for achievement of sustainable development goals. The paper examined entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education, tertiary education and sustainable development goals. Importance of entrepreneurship education at tertiary education level was discussed. Strategies for effective use of entrepreneurship education in the achievement of sustainable development goals were highlighted to include: organization of sensitization programmes by the governments and school administrators, making students ready to learn entrepreneurial skills and motivation of both students and lecturers, among others. Threats to effective use of entrepreneurship education in the achievement of sustainable development goals were enumerated to include lack of orientation and re-orientation of students on the benefits of entrepreneurship education, desire to get certificate by all means and desire to get white collar jobs by Nigerian graduates. It was therefore, recommended among others that federal and state governments as well as school administrators should organize orientation and re-orientation programmes for students on the benefits derivable from entrepreneurship education.
